Terms of Service
Essio ("we", "us") provides software that scores and rewrites e-commerce product listings to improve their visibility in AI-powered search. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
Accounts
You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. You must own or be authorized to manage the product listings you submit.
Credits and payment
Rewrites are paid for with credits. New accounts receive a small number of free trial credits. Credits and subscriptions are billed through Stripe; by purchasing, you authorize those charges. One-time credits do not expire while your account is active. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled.
Acceptable use
Don't use Essio to process content you don't have rights to, to generate unlawful or misleading listings, or to abuse, overload, or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend accounts that do.
AI-generated content
Rewrites are generated by AI and may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing all output before publishing it to your store. We don't guarantee any particular search ranking, traffic, or sales outcome — no honest tool can.
Shopify connection
If you connect a Shopify store, you authorize Essio to read and update your products using the access token you provide, only when you click to apply changes. You can disconnect at any time.
Liability
The service is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior three months. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date. Continued use means you accept the changes.
Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Account data: your email (via Supabase Auth or Google sign-in).
- Product data you submit: titles, descriptions, tags, and the rewrites we generate, stored so you can access your history.
- Billing data: handled by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer reference and your credit balance — never your full card number.
- Store connection: if you connect Shopify, your access token is stored encrypted and used only to read/update your products.
How we use it
To provide the service: run audits, generate rewrites, keep your history, process payments, and apply changes to your store when you ask. We do not sell your data.
Subprocessors
We rely on Supabase (database/auth), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (the AI that performs rewrites), and Stripe (payments). Product text you submit is sent to Anthropic to generate your rewrite.
Your choices
You can delete your account and associated data by contacting us. You can disconnect a store at any time, which removes the stored token.
Refund Policy
Because rewrites consume AI resources the moment they run, used credits are non-refundable. However:
- If something went wrong on our end (e.g. a failed rewrite that still charged you), contact us and we'll refund or re-credit it.
- Unused credits from a one-time purchase can be refunded within 14 days of purchase, less any payment-processing fees.
- You can cancel a subscription anytime from the Billing portal; cancellation stops future charges. We don't prorate the current period.
