Frequently asked questions
Everything sellers ask about getting products found in AI search. New to this? Start with the guide.
Most likely your listings are 'connected but invisible.' Being on ChatGPT Shopping or Google AI isn't the same as being recommended. If your titles are brand names, your descriptions are vague, and you're missing materials, use-cases and structured data, the AI has nothing to match a shopper's question against — so it never suggests you.
It's how findable your products are when a shopper asks an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Copilot, Google AI Mode) for a recommendation instead of typing keywords into a search bar. AI assistants match conversational questions to product data, so visibility depends on whether your listing clearly states what the product is, who it's for, and its key attributes.
Yes. Essio auto-detects whether you uploaded a Shopify or Etsy export and tailors the output. For Etsy it gives you a title within the 140-character limit, an optimized description, and up to 13 tags (each within Etsy's 20-character limit). For Shopify it also gives a re-importable CSV and optional structured data.
No — Essio works for any online store or marketplace. The core optimization (search-intent titles, facts-first descriptions, keywords and FAQ) is platform-agnostic and helps WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Squarespace, Wix, Amazon, eBay and your own site too. Shopify and Etsy are just auto-detected and get a few extra conveniences like a re-importable CSV and Etsy-correct tag limits. Pick 'Other store' and paste a product or upload any CSV with a Title and Description column.
No. Essio never touches your live store. You stay in control: it shows you a before/after for every product, and you copy the new fields in or re-import a corrected CSV yourself. This keeps a human in the loop so nothing changes without your approval.
Rewriting one product costs one credit on Standard quality, or two on Premium. New accounts get 3 free credits. You can buy one-time credit packs or subscribe monthly. The free audit — the score and the list of problems — never costs a credit.
Standard uses a fast, affordable model and is great for bulk rewriting. Premium uses a higher-end model for more nuanced copy and costs two credits per product instead of one. Both produce the same set of fields; Premium tends to read more naturally on tricky or high-value listings.
It's an optional bonus, mainly for Shopify users comfortable editing theme code. Many Shopify themes already add basic product schema, so the useful extra is FAQ schema. Etsy doesn't allow custom code at all. The biggest wins come from the rewritten title, description and FAQ — not the schema.
Yes. Descriptive titles, specific descriptions, real keywords and structured data help classic Google and Google Shopping too — not just AI assistants. The same work improves both, so it's not a bet solely on AI search.
It varies. After you update your listings, AI engines and search crawlers need time to re-read your pages — typically days to a few weeks. We don't guarantee rankings (no honest tool can), but better, clearer product data is what makes you eligible to be recommended.
Your product data is your own, and it's already public on your store. Essio only processes the listings you upload, to produce your rewrites and history. We don't sell your data.
